Local Prevention Councils function at the local community level to provide
primary prevention. SAAC serves as the liaison between the LPCs in our fourteen
communities and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).
LPCs participate in the state-wide underage drinking and smoking prevention
programs.
