RYASAP TRAINING DIVISION A youth and community development approach based on the work
of John Kretzmann and John McKnight focusing on young people’s and the
community’s gifts, assets and capacities.
RYASAP Trainers: Soraya Bilbao, Training Director Robert M. Francis, Executive Director Resiliency is defined as the ability of individuals to
“bounce back” from difficult circumstances. Participants will learn how to
apply the six principles of the “Resiliency Wheel”—(1) Increase pre-social
bonding, (2) set clear and consistent boundaries, (3) teach life skills, (4)
provide caring and support, (5) set and communicate high expectations, and (6)
provide young people with opportunities for meaningful participation with
schools, families and communities. As a result of participating in this training you will:
