Asset Based Community Development
This innovative prevention program focuses on identifying and harnessing the positive attributes, skills, talents and contributions of individuals, associations, and institutions of the Greater Bridgeport Region. Assets is a partnership between the Regional Youth/Adult Substance Abuse Project (RYASAP) and Bridgeport Child Advocacy Coalition (BCAC). Prevention Activities

In partnership with Bridgeport Hospital and the Fairfield Health Department RYASAP provides a comprehensive smoking cessation program, SMOKEFREE, targeted to women. More . . .

Community Mobilization

Block By Block is a program that provides seed money to promote, encourage, and support community-based projects designed and implemented by area residents to enhance the quality of life for young people and their families. Application in Word 97 format. More . . .

Youth Development

In partnership with the Center for Youth as Resources and the Bridgeport Schools RYASAP has implementing a program called YAR Promote the Peace at five area schools. The program will helps position young people as community leaders who develop and fund youth-run community improvement and public safety projects.

Safe Neighborhoods AmeriCorps Project

The Safe Neighborhoods AmeriCorps Partnership (SNAP), a collaborative of RYASAP and the Bridgeport Police Department, is a community service program designed to reduce crime, violence and fear in targeted high-risk neighborhoods in Bridgeport. More . . .
